Volcani activity has calmed down somewhat. Tropical storm activity is also dying. There is a coincidence with such behaviour that is mirrored in the lists of earthquakes:

shows the quakes of magnitude 4.5 and greater. I removed the map references to the folowing as there is just too much data for a teaching aid such as this:

What I am trying to show is that as storms die, the “cause” or die as these types of quakes occur. Pairs or multiple epicentres that are adjaecent and occur withing minutes of each other. Sometimes they are separated by an hour or more but very often in such cases they are the only large magnitudes to occur during such times.

The opposite phenomena occurs when storm generate, therer is a marked absence of large magnitude earthquakes. If the lapse is greater than 15 hours it will become a tropical storm if another 3 hours occurs the storm may become hurricane strength. Another 3 hours and it will be a category 2 hurricane or typhoon. Another 3 hours and it will be a Cat 3 etcetera…
